Arrange cylinder hydrostatic testing & recharging in Egypt

vslSafety coordinates marine service requests around the vessel’s port call, equipment scope, required attendance date, and applicable flag, class, maker, or competent-person requirements. Provide the exact port and terminal because access, transport, permits, workshop collection, and available service time can vary between locations.

Marine cylinder testing and recharge

High-pressure cylinders used for breathing air, fixed firefighting systems, portable extinguishers, medical oxygen, and rescue equipment require controlled inspection and periodic testing. The service may include collection from the vessel, safe depressurisation, internal and external examination, hydrostatic or approved pressure testing, drying, valve overhaul, refill by the correct medium, leak testing, marking, and return with traceable certification.

Which cylinders and intervals are covered

Common equipment includes SCBA and EEBD cylinders, fixed CO2 banks, portable CO2 extinguishers, breathing-air cascade cylinders, medical oxygen, nitrogen, and inflation cylinders. Intervals vary by cylinder construction, gas, maker, flag, class, national transport rules, and the fire-safety maintenance guidance applied to the ship. MSC.1/Circ.1432, as amended, is often referenced for fixed and portable fire-protection systems. SCBA hydrostatic testing is frequently five-yearly, while fixed CO2 arrangements may use age-based sample testing, but the exact requirement must be confirmed for each cylinder.

Typical workshop process

  • Record serial number, gas, working and test pressure, manufacture date, and existing stamps
  • Inspect threads, neck, body, base, lining, corrosion, mechanical damage, and valve condition
  • Perform the prescribed water-jacket, proof-pressure, or other accepted test
  • Dry internally, service or replace the valve, recharge by weight or pressure, and leak test
  • Apply approved markings and issue a cylinder schedule and test certificate; condemn unsafe units under the applicable procedure

Request details

Send cylinder type, quantity, gas, capacity, working and test pressure, manufacture and last-test dates, valve connection, system maker, vessel location, and deadline. Include photographs and the cylinder list where possible. Confirm transport restrictions, dangerous-goods handling, exchange-cylinder acceptance, class attendance, and whether system isolation or recommissioning is included.
