Marine HVAC and refrigeration support

Environmental and survey context
MARPOL Annex VI regulation 12 controls ozone-depleting substances and requires relevant records for applicable installations and ships. Refrigerant recovery, purchase, charging, leakage, and disposal may also be governed by flag, port-state, and national technician-certification rules. Surveyors can review the ODS Record Book, equipment inventory, deliberate-emission controls, and evidence of approved handling. Refrigerant type must be positively identified before mixing, recovery, or charging.

- Leak detection, pressure testing with an appropriate medium, evacuation, dehydration, charging, and recovery

- Provision-room checks, defrost optimisation, insulation and door-seal inspection, air balancing, and duct cleaning support
- Commissioning report recording refrigerant movements, measurements, parts used, remaining defects, and operating condition
Prepare the service request
Provide the vessel, port, system maker and model, refrigerant, charge quantity, cooling capacity, space served, fault symptoms, alarm codes, trend readings, previous work, suspected leak, spares onboard, and sailing deadline. Confirm whether the plant can be stopped, whether food or cargo needs temporary cooling, and whether refrigerant supply or disposal is required. Good diagnostic information helps mobilise the correct gauges, recovery equipment, refrigerant, and parts on the first visit.
