Engine-room machinery overhaul and riding teams

Machinery work often has to fit a cargo schedule rather than a workshop schedule. Class, maker, and safety controls

Overhaul intervals normally follow maker running-hour guidance, condition-monitoring results, the company’s maintenance system, and class machinery survey arrangements rather than one universal statutory interval. Work affecting class items, pressure boundaries, crankshafts, propulsion, automation, or emissions equipment may require an approved method, maker involvement, material traceability, NDT, and surveyor attendance. A riding team must also be included in the vessel’s safe-work, induction, accommodation, immigration, and emergency arrangements.

Build a work package that can be priced

Provide the vessel schedule, equipment maker and model, serial number and running hours, job list, manuals and drawings, previous measurements, fault history, class recommendations, spare-parts list, tools onboard, lifting arrangements, and target completion point. State who supplies consumables, machining, transport, launches, cabins, PPE, visas, flights, and overtime approvals. Define acceptance tests and report format before mobilisation. Clear boundaries are especially important for voyage work, where access, vessel operation, and changing weather can affect productivity.
